      i'm a greek who lives in america. the reason i say that is because america is like a big shopping mall, there are stores at every corner. big stores, small stores, mini malls and very few historical sites. we would love to have you visit , but there's not alot of great attractions unless your willing to spend a lot of money. my family is from santorini, greece. that would be a great place to go on vacation. every time i visit my family , i get sad because i know that i'll have to leave soon. wherever you go i hope you have fun, but just remember - historical sites and the best beaches in the world, or you can go to a big shopping mall where everything is expensive, it's up to you. take care.

    For those Americans who can't figure out her accent. Her vacation trip was to Poland. She pronounces it like Pollen (like from flowers) where most of us say Pole (like a fishing pole). So cute..
    The Kissing Question... You may not know this but in the US we call an open mouth, deep kiss (often with the use of the tongue) a French Kiss. That is why that person asked if the French invented kissing.

I wish you all the best and I support your channel so you can make this reality.
    As far as natural places to visit in the US, you must visit California. [Not now being we are going through many wildfires], but if there is only one state you have to visit to get full diversity of nature, landscape and cultures, it's my home state. Within a day or two you can play at the beach, hike the tallest mountain in the US then the lowest point in N. America, visit the forests, deserts, ranches, wine fields, giant sequoia or redwood trees, glaciers, surf with dolphins, ski in the Tahoe or Mammoth area visit Yosemite National Park, swim or boat in the many rivers and lakes... actually you would need a year or so to do all that here. The terrain in California and Oregon is so divers that its unimaginable. I was born and raised here and I still haven't seen it all but I do live a short walk to my local surf point and make the best of that almost daily.
    Take care Marie and good luck on your move.

    • @rcinsley
      @rcinsley 4 года назад

      If you skip the big cities and tour its natural attractions, California is MAGNIFICENT! After visiting the Tahoe area, I was convinced it had to be the most beautiful place in the U.S. It IS amazing, but to borrow the WWI song title ""How Ya Gonna Keep 'em Down on the Farm (After They've Seen Paree?)"...then I had a chance to visit Alaska! It lacks the diversity of California, but the scenery EVERYWHERE is breath-taking (...and Denali, not Mt. Whitney, has been the highest peak in the U.S. since 1959.) California's agricultural output is almost beyond comprehension, and wine production has only France as a serious competitor.

    • @artsilva
      @artsilva 4 года назад

      @@rcinsley Being that when talking about touring the US in normal terms, I guess I should have made it even more obvious I was talking about the "lower 48", but many outside the US don't know that term and looks at "the US" as those 48 states.
      So yes if you include the far reaching Alaska proper, Denali (former McKinley) is higher but it's also not as accessible or easily visible from civilization as Whitney.
      Somewhere I read that California agriculture produces 1/3rd of the nations goods. That is Huge which is part of the reason the state alone has the 5th largest economy in the World. That natural diversity proves to be substantially beneficial.

    • @rcinsley
      @rcinsley 4 года назад

      @@artsilva I'm just teasing. :-) California's natural beauty is hard to overstate. Alaskans are pretty laid back about the view out the back door & don't pick on their neighbors along the Pacific coast...but Texas is another matter! Alaskans delight in pointing out that everything might look bigger FROM Texas, but if Alaska divided in half, then there would be TWO states bigger than Texas!! :-)

    • @artsilva
      @artsilva 4 года назад

      @@rcinsley true. and I am glad Alaskans are laid back about their place in the US map because I would HATE for that beautiful piece of massive nature to be exploited like the other 49 states. Keep Alaska Wild I say.
      Texas? yeah they have the second biggest economy behind California but in comparison it is mostly uninspiring to visit... sorry texans but it's true, and I have lots of family and spent LOTS of time there, so before you attack me...

    As far as the desire to travel goes, there are a lot of traveling jobs out there like writing blogs or travel guides for a publishing company or travel company where they pay you to travel and write about your experiences, the locations, and the accomodations and foods available, and they cover your expenses too. Might be worth checking in to. Getting paid to travel sounds like a dream job, but do your research, I don't know what the details of such a career would be. Also, your interest in other languages and cultures could lead toward a career in anthropology, maybe? Just throwing out some thoughts for you. Your decisions, of course. Thanks for sharing with us. I'll of course have to go find your guitar playing videos and see how much better you are than you admit to. Why, as humans, we tend to claim less than our our true ability is beyond me. I guess I'll see after viewing your playing. I'm sure your better than you think.

If I were hosting you in Minnesota I would take you to Duluth and the North Shore area. This is the part of Minnesota that is on Lake Superior. One way to experience other countries before traveling to them is to cook their food. Years ago, after I hurt my back, a lady from Kenya came to help until I was better. We became great friends as she taught me new recipies and new words in Swahili. Even though I do not know all the language yet, her other friends were impressed when I asked for tea during her party. I think that your comment about Paris versus the French Countryside would also be valid on a trip to the US. Yes, there are places like NYCity and other large cities that offer a lot of experience and uniqueness (like the amount of tall buildings and intermingling of foreign cultures), but if you really want to get a feel for America, the smaller towns and avoiding the massive tourist traps is where you will really get a good feel for what America is. I grew up in California, lived in Germany, then Tennessee, then Kentucky (just south of Cincinnati, Ohio), and have traveled to many large towns like Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington D.C., etc., and there really is much more to learn from the small towns and "averge" places that exist in America.
    My point is that you should visit both, but if you could only choose one, I would go with a road trip that takes you through a few large towns, but a lot of older, smaller places as well. I drove from Cincinnati all the way to California when I moved back this year, and you experience "The South," a lot of farm land (that feeds a lot of the world), some desert (where there are Native-American stores), some mountains, and if you go all of the way to the coast, you get the palm trees and California coast. If you want a small taste of a bit of Mexico, you could find yourself in San Diego in extreme Southern California and enjoy that mix of American and Mexican cultures as well. Definitely stop at a taco truck if you make it that far. Best wishes on your journey when you get to make it.

    Yeah I luv Prague and the Czech people are really warm if you make the effort to speak to them. Been there a couple of times, I would recommend staying a few miles outside of the center of the city. You get to see the real Prague and not just the tourist side! :)

    After seeing your reaction to the righteous brothers and some of the other older songs you've been hearing, I was trying to think of other songs that seemed similar and for the life of me couldn't think of some, but whoever suggested Glen Campbell - Gentle on My Mind picked a gem. That song the studio version is worth a listen, and there was a cover by some newer musicians that actually did it justice, but I would first listen to the original.

    Hi Maria, if you have the opportunity to visit the United States I highly recommend you visit both Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park. When traveling in between the two be sure to stop in Helena Montana and visit the Cathedral of Saint Helena, I think you would really enjoy the stained glass there. The wildlife, the natural beauty and the thermal features of Yellowstone are something everyone should get to enjoy at least once in their lifetime. Really enjoy your videos!

    Japan is great and isn't as expensive as it sounds. I go a lot for their snow, it's cheaper for me to fly to Japan to snowboard than to go here at home in Australia, I've been there about 15 times now. Do Tokyo too, it's a cool city. The Imperial Palace and gardens are a five minute walk from Tokyo station. Japan has a good rail system and domestic flights are fairly cheap.....and put New Zealand on your list too...beautiful place, I've driven and snowboarded a lot of the south island.

    Here is a content suggestion (*not* a request, only a suggestion).
    Make a short list of the music videos that most amazed and pleased you.
    Then, grab a roommate or friend, or even a family member. Make them sit with you, turn on the camera and share one of the videos on your list with him/her - *if* they are unfamiliar with the artist. After the viewing, have a short discussion about what they have seen and what they think of it.
    Your viewers will be treated to a fresh reaction, and you will be in the role of a guide. A mentor. You can answer their questions, share your enthusiasm. Might be fun! The artists may gain new fans, too - and not just the person you will recruit to make the video with you. As your channel grows, you will attract new viewers who have not seen your entire back catalog and will have missed some of the artists you most admired.
    The really great artists' work is enjoyable to see many times, so don't be concerned that you will bore your audience. Nope! Personally, I love to see fresh reactions to the best artists, even if I've heard the song a hundred times before. I think most viewers of your channel might agree.
    Cheers!

      Totally agree! It's a special treat to watch faces when you're lucky enough to share a true (not staged) first-time reaction to great musicians and performers. A growing number of the artists Marie's discovering are in that class!

    I really like your energy. You seem very genuine and down-to-earth, and you have nice, expressive eyes. Je ne parle pas français (un peu), mais j'ai grandi avec de nombreux Québécois dans la belle ville du Maine
    . If you like rustic, country settings (as I do too), I would recommend visiting coastal Maine in the summer. Maine is renowned for its delicious seafood, and the world-famous Maine Lobster and/or Steamer Clams highlight some of the dishes you would likely enjoy. The largest city in Maine is Portland, but it only has around 65,000 people, so it feels more like a large t own than a city, with friendly people and a beautiful harbor and islands to visit.
    Then if you want to hike some big mountains and spend time on a ranch, I would recommend the state of Utah. In Utah, Google a picturesque town called Midway, as it is set in a beautiful country-like setting, and the original settles were Swiss, so MANY of the town's buildings have chalet-style buildings. Also, the famous ski area called Park City is also a beautiful place, but you can have just as much fun there in the idyllic, mild summer as you can in the cold winter during skiing season.
    Anyway, you seem like a lovely person, so once we're FINALLY beyond this awful COVID-19 pandemic, I hope you make your way to the US and check out those (or other) places. Reste bien, mon ami :)
